The Enstrom Helicopter Company Has Made Its Way To The Top Of The Industry
The Enstrom Helicopter Corporation was founded in Northern Michigan in 1959 by Rudy Enstrom, a mechanic who also worked as a lumberjack. It was also owned in the past by Attorney F. Lee Bailey. The company has produced around 1200 aircraft since 1965. The models which are currently being produced by Enstrom are the F-28 – piston, the 280 – piston, and the 480 – single engine with turbine power. Although the company has been lacking for past years, it is now back on track again with bigger and better ideas. They are privately owned and are devoted to designing and producing the piston powered helicopters such as the 280 FX Shark, which has great ability to perform at high altitudes and during extreme heat, and is the quickest helicopter of its type in the entire world. The Enstrom 480 became internationally well received and seventy percent of the first fifty were delivered abroad. The large turbo-powered helicopter easily became the most important model for the “Enstrom Helicopter Company. Currently certified in thirteen different countries, the FAA certified 480 B has never in its history had a fatality. Both the Enstrom 280 FX and the 480 B are used in a private flight school to give training lessons. The location is called the Rocky Mountain Rotorcraft, which is in Colorado. The developers are Andy Litteral and Jack Ferguson. They are well experienced in flying aircraft, teaching lessons, and selling aircraft. They believe that the Enstrom Helicopter is an excellent aircraft to meet their needs. There is also a service department located there. The Walkera 4 #3 is a radio controlled (rc) indoor helicopter and likely one of the smallest. It needs no assembly and is ready to fly when you take it out of the box. It can be flown outdoors in calm wind. It does require eight AA batteries which do not come with the Walkera kit. The gyro has a little difficulty with bouncing but it does work well overall. The main rotor blades are built quite well and are flexible which allows them to survive a crash with little or no damage at all. The rotor blade holder pops off to lessen the damage upon impact. The Walkera is easily operated without having prior experience and easily maintained. It has parts which can easily be found. The Enstrom Helicopter Company came into existence nearly half a century ago and is becoming more innovative throughout the years. It is expected to have outstanding growth in the future. |
