Get A Hind Helicopter For Sale

Over the years, helicopters have been used for countless military missions.  However, one particular chopper has been at the forefront of a number of missions, conflicts, and outright wars:  the Mil Mi-24, known in NATO terminology as the Hind helicopter.  This piece of machinery was created by the Soviets in 1972 and put to work for their Air Force.  These days, the machines are being used by many different nations – and there are several different places you might even be able to find a Hind helicopter for sale.

Hind helicopters have some very nice features.  For starters, the choppers are well-equipped with guns and ammunition; in fact, the machines have the unique ability to fight whether in the air or on land.  It’s no wonder that the craft are popular and people inquire about any Hinds they can find for sale.  The speedy chopper also harbored anti-tank missiles on the lower fuselage.  This was to serve the craft’s main purpose, which was to attack armored vehicles belonging to the enemy.

The heyday of this aircraft could mildly be described as an adventure, to say the least.  This chopper was affected by heat and dirt as a result of the gunfire involved with heavy fighting.  In addition, the helicopter had a significant flaw:  The fact that the engine exhaust is near the rotor means that virtually any hit would lead to possible destruction.  The craft’s tail also was quite vulnerable to artillery.  Fortunately, the cockpit was well-protected – so as long as artillery fire did not hit the vulnerable areas, the craft (and its inhabitants) could survive.

So this chopper has been involved in quite a few wars, due to the fact that despite its flaws, the helicopter has been upgraded over the years, and the latest technology placed in the design of the choppers.  The big question is:  Can you find a Hind helicopter for sale, or perhaps for rentals??  Well, in the United States, only 7 individuals own a Hind craft for private use, and while many nations are still using new, updated versions of the chopper, the closest you’ll likely get to one of these machines is to take in an air show.  These choppers were memorable, certainly – but owning one is unlikely.
